Ladies on parade

Men were eyeing up the packages at this year's bachelorette auction - the trip packages that is.
The Arthritis Foundation's Bachelorette Ball grew even larger in its second year, with 14 prestigious women participating as this year's bachelorettes. The event, held Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Longboat Key Club's Harbourside Dining Room, drew a sell-out crowd of almost 250 people.
The ladies worked very hard to put together extravagant packages that could be bid on by men, women and couples (in which case the bachelorette would not be included on the trip). The biggest packages of the evening were Anne Chauvet's, which included a trip to Spain, and Wendy Bowen's, which included a trip to Paris.
The event, which was co-chaired by Bill Rogers and Sandy Moore, also included impromptu modeling of gorgeous gowns by Zola Keller, which made the "Masquerade" sparkle even more.
