Hearts were open wide at the reception and opening of Heart Gallery Sarasota's first big public showing, held Sept. 15 at Saks Fifth Avenue. As attendees perused the many panels set up with 22 foster children needing adoption, they listened to sound clips attached to find out what each child's emotional story. Adoption specialists were on hand to answer any questions guests had about the process.
Tears flowed as Heart Gallery Sarasota's founder, Jeremiah Guccione, told the story of one child who, just weeks before she turned 18, was adopted by a woman in Virginia. He read a letter of thanks to the Heart Gallery, which said how grateful she was to finally have a family.
The event was an introduction to the gallery in the Westfield Southgate mall, and will be open for viewing throughout September and October.
