Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall was abuzz on Tuesday, Jan. 2 about the performances of the young musical prodigies and world-famous superstar of the violin, Itzhak Perlman. The evening, benefiting The Perlman Music Program and Van Wezel Education and Outreach Programs, began with a cocktail hour to thank generous donors. Guests were then treated to a Celebration Concert, conducted by Itzhak Perlman, featuring the 35 talented students that have participated in the two-week winter residency in Sarasota for the past two years. The harmonious evening ended with a dinner in the Grand Foyer, chaired by Dottie Baer Garner with Honorary Chairs Alyce Kalin, Bea Friedman, and Carolyn Michel, featuring beautifully decorated black and white tables with stunning white feathered lamps serving as the centerpieces.
