Lunch and a lecture

Nothing makes a girl?s day like shopping and lunch with her friends. Well, Jewel Ash and Gloria Moss decided to take it up a notch, putting together the Summer Salon Series at Designing Women Boutique. Once a month from June to October, the women put together a luncheon with a mini-lecture and fashion show, allowing attendees to shop before and after dining.
This month?s guest speaker was especially entertaining, as local celebrity Scott George had guests laughing throughout his dialogue. He told an engaging story of his life, complete with tales of dining in the White House and his beginnings in the opera world.
Before lunch, the 65 ladies were treated to 50% off a special jewelry selection, of which many attendees took advantage. Some even came early and wound up purchasing an outfit or two in the Designing Women Boutique. The fashion show had impressive numbers, with models wearing dressy and casual items that fit their personalities. The next Summer Salon Series takes place Oct. 26 and will feature Bill Fenner as lecturer.
