Dreams do come true
By Jessica Seubert
There was a reason the invitations said casual attire. When guests entered the Crosley Mansion for the Foundation for Dreams event, they were quickly led out back to a buffet of treats and cocktails - and a stunning view of the sunset on the bay.
Hosted by Michael Saunders, the evening was set outdoors to give attendees the feel of the camp setting Foundation for Dreams offers children with physical and mental disabilities or serious illnesses.
While children attending the camp and their families were important guests, the evening was set up to honor camp founder Eddie Mulock and the 10th anniversary of the foundation. Foundation for Dreams started the Dream Oaks Camp in Bradenton as a retreat for children with disabilities on a weeklong basis in summer, and on weekends during fall and winter. It provides parents with a safe place where their children can get away and enjoy themselves and nature.
