Join Mote to kayak Sarasota Bay and discover the animals that rise at the crack of dawn. All kayaking equipment is provided and class begins with basic kayaking instruction. Participants must be 11 or older. Kids under 14 must attend class with an adult. Kids ages 14 to 18 may attend on their own, but must bring a notarized medical treatment authorization form.

St. Boniface Catholic Church welcomed new students for the first day of preschool Tuesday, Sept. 2. The Siesta Key church hosts preschool for children ages 1 to 4 years old throughout the school year. Students were dressed in their favorite back-to-school gear with new backpacks, sunglasses and sneakers.
