The Jazz Club of Sarasota's February "Jazz at Two" concert series concludes with Diane Linscott & Company, February 22, 2013. Hailed as a "top-notch singer" with a style that embodies the skill and warmth of vocalists from jazz's golden age, Linscott will be joined by Eddie Tobin on piano, Mark Neuenschwander on bass and Johnny Moore on drums. Their program will feature jazz standards from the Great American Songbook taken off of Ms. Linscott’s latest CD release, "You Are There." The series, which was founded in 2001, showcases the region's top jazz performers on Fridays, 2-4 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, 3975 Fruitville Road, Sarasota. Tickets are $7 for Jazz Club members and $12 for non-members. A portion of ticket sales is directed to the Jazz Club's scholarship program. Second graders at Out-of-Door Academy crossed the mulch Thursday, May 23 as a symbolic gesture of the lower level entering the higher-level building next year. Third graders crossed the mulch on Tuesday, May 21 but the second graders – next year’s third graders – will be the first second graders to cross the mulch and be in the new building. Out-of-Door Academy donated the left over food to the Salvation Army. Approximately 38 children played games and later crossed the courtyard as parents snapped photographs. -
