Residents and visitors are invited to stroll through Siesta Village which will be adorned with Valentine cheer. There will be something for everyone including live music throughout the Village and candy kisses which will be distributed by the merchants. Participating merchants will be displaying red and pink balloons outside of their businesses. Siesta Key Village offers romantic destinations for you and your sweetheart and lots of fun for the whole family. If parking is a concern, there will be pedi-cab and golf cart cab services from the Siesta Public Beach parking lot to the Village. SPD continues homeless crackdown
After establishing an overtime patrol for Five Points Park and Pineapple Park, the Sarasota Police Department is also monitoring J.D. Hamel Park for illicit activity.
Sheriff's Office braces for spring breakers
Sheriff's deputies will increase patrols and be on the lookout for underage drinking and drug use during this year's spring break season.

After raising $18,000 for their Wacky Wildcat Walk-a-thon March 7, McNeal Elementary students enjoyed time outside after their hard work. About 90% of the children raised at least $1 to go toward new laptops and Tablets for the school. Students in each grade level walked, jogged and sprinted as they competed to win gold, silver and bronze medals for the fastest times, per grade.
