Dr. Ken Brummel-Smith, past president of the American Geriatrics Society, will speak at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 201 Cocoanut Ave., Sarasota. Dr. Brummel-Smith offers candid and honest advice about how you can greatly enhance the work being done by your personal physician so that you can achieve optimal aging and maintain an independent lifestyle. The free talk is being held at the College of Medicine's Sarasota Regional Campus, 201 Cocoanut Ave., Sarasota. A reception begins at 5 p.m. and the talk starts at 6 p.m. Seating is limited. Chalk Festival organizers open new store
