Beginning Painting with Julie Hanson will take place from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Jan. 9 to Feb. 13, at Art Center Sarasota. This class will address all of the issues that the beginner needs to know including the differences in mediums, tools and color basics. You can wait until after the first class to decide which medium (oil, water-soluble oil or acrylic) you would like to work with because students will discuss and explore the differences and required supplies at the first class. The class will explore drawing basics for the painter including value, understanding basic form, color use, composition, brushwork and more.
