The Curtis Institute of Music Comes to Southern Florida, Presenting Students, Faculty, and Alumni from One of the World's Leading Conservatories Performances in Sarasota (Nov. 29 and Feb. 6), Lake Wales (Feb. 3), and Fort Myers (Feb. 8) The Curtis Institute of Music, one of the world’s leading conservatories, comes to Southern Florida for a season of spectacular music-making. Experience the youthful exuberance and seasoned artistry that is the hallmark of Curtis performances. Curtis graduates with Sarasota roots perform on Thursday, November 29 at 8 p.m. at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art’s Historic Asolo Theater. The Sarasota Alumni Recital features renowned violinist Joseph Silverstein (’50), a faculty member at both Curtis and the Sarasota Music Festival; Abraham Feder (’08), principal cello of the Sarasota Orchestra; and Joe Assi (’07), co-principal horn of the Sarasota Orchestra. They are joined by Curtis staff pianist Amy J. Yang (’06) for a glorious all-Brahms evening featuring the Violin Sonata, Op. 100; the Horn Trio, Op. 40; and the Piano Trio, Op. 8.
