Sarasota Concert Association's Great Performers Series presents violinist James Ehnes on February 26. Ehnes, called the Jascha Heifetz of our day, has been hailed by critics for his secure command of solid technique and understanding of music history. His recordings have garnered numerous awards, including a Grammy. In 2002, he was named Young Artist of the Year at the Cannes Classical Awards for his “Six Sonatas & Partitas for Solo Violin” by Bach. A resident of Bradenton, Ehnes tours worldwide with his 1715 "Marsick" Stradivarius and is also the artistic director of the Seattle Chamber Music Society.
