Terra Ceia Island – A Supportive Community For the 4th year, the Terra Ceia Island Arts & Craft show, promoting local talent and business, will be held, Sunday, October 14th , 10 am – 5 pm at the SeaBreeze Park, 55 Horseshoe Loop on Terra Ceia Island. This show is the most affordable show in Florida and is dedicated to Community support. The island’s Village Improvement Association (VIA) is also proud to announce partnership with the Suncoast affiliate of Susan G. Komen, Faces of Courage, and the SunCoast Communities Blood Bank. The Blood mobile will be present at the Show. The Park is located on the scenic shores of Terra Ceia Bay. The Village Improvement Association is 110 years old this year and has always been dedicated to improving the community and developing strong community ties. A common goal over the many years has been to foster good neighborliness and giving help to those who need it. The TCI Arts and Craft Show is another avenue to accomplish this goal as well as supporting cancer research and services. The Show is almost full with a maximum of 75 exhibits. There is a wide variety of exhibitors including custom wood furniture, lamps, pottery, hand painted items, watercolors & oil/acrylic, items made from nature, hand sewn items, jewelry, homemade honey, fishing items, shell items, metal & wood sculpturing, plants, fresh vegetables and fruit and much more. The VIA will be selling food, beverages, homemade baked and canned goods, books and hand painted glasses. There are well over 100 raffle prizes and drawings will occur every ½ hour throughout the day. Music will be provided by local bands, “A Little Off Key” (island music) and the TCI SeaBreeze Jammers (oldies). There is no admission to the show and lots of free parking. Terra Ceia Island is rich in history, having most of the historical sites in Manatee County. The island provides a scenic drive and exemplifies “Old Florida”. It has been the center of produce supplies and a significant import/export port in the early days. Today, the population of the island is diverse, all working together to survive and prosper in a tenuous economy. The VIA SeaBreeze Park is located on the scenic shores of Terra Ceia Bay. This year’s show is an opportunity for fun, great values and a lovely day on Terra Ceia Island. The VIA is very active in supporting local talent and businesses; and this year they support cancer research and services.
