All Wired Up with Colleen White Jewelry Making, All Levels Fridays Nov 16 – Dec 21, 2012; 1pm-4pm $150m/$180nm Artist Demo: Nov 10, 1-4pm free Using 20 gauge copper wire, available locally in a variety of colors, learn to create beautiful jewelry incorporating beads, pendants, and other embellishments. Includes decorative wire links and a Grecian spiral bracelet, how to use a wire jig to make decorative shapes, and use of a coiling gizmo for gorgeous spiral beads and coiled jewelry. Learn to incorporate stones or found materials into your jewelry with simple wire wraps and how to make bead and wire rings. Materials and tool list: (Contact instructor with any additional questions.) Round nose, needle nose, and flat nylon jawed pliers, small flush cutters, wire jig, coiling gizmo, bead board, beads, 20 gauge copper wire in your choice of colors, beads- all available locally at JoAnns or Michaels.

Second graders at Out-of-Door Academy crossed the mulch Thursday, May 23 as a symbolic gesture of the lower level entering the higher-level building next year. Third graders crossed the mulch on Tuesday, May 21 but the second graders – next year’s third graders – will be the first second graders to cross the mulch and be in the new building. Out-of-Door Academy donated the left over food to the Salvation Army. Approximately 38 children played games and later crossed the courtyard as parents snapped photographs. -
