Oh radiant, apple-green Lamborghini, how I heart you.

I grow weak in the knees over your magical press-and-lift doors that open toward the sky as if they were wings. I swoon over your sultry leather seats trimmed in green-dashed stitching. But, more than anything else, I heart you for making an evening of work not seem like work at all; for once I laid eyes on you, I knew we would share something special.

I took a five-minute break to mingle with this beauty on a recent Friday evening when I covered a Lamborghini Sarasota event. Long-time Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni was presented with a model in his honor — the Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni.

I’m almost positive that every Italian Sarasota resident attended the invite-only affair, which included Lamborghini owners and those who, one day down the road, might own one.

What can I say, my newfound Lamborghini love? I’m sure I’ll dream about you forever more — or at least until I’m invited to an Aston Martin media opportunity.
