The luncheon will benefit the establishment of a Cultural Resource Center which will be housed at the library. The center will serve Sarasota and surrounding counties as a reference and research facility of materials on all aspects of the global black experience. Keynote speaker for the luncheon will be Khalil Gibran Muhammad, Ph.D., director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, a research library within the New York City Library system.
