Caring Hearts supports First Step’s Mothers & Infants program. The event includes lunch at Michael’s On East, the awarding of the Caring Heart of the Year Award and testimony from a program graduate, as well as a raffle or silent auction. Individual tickets are $60 each and sponsorship opportunities are also available. Mothers & Infants provides substance abuse treatment and counseling for pregnant women with an addiction. Additionally, the women receive parenting classes, workforce assistance and links to a myriad of other community services. Since the program’s inception in 1995, it has celebrated the births of nearly 300 healthy, drug-free babies – a 100% success rate.
