Town Manager Bruce St. Denis is inquiring whether the Town Commission is interested in moving the regular workshop time from 1 p.m. to noon.

In a letter to commissioners from St. Denis this week, he explains that there was consensus to have brief departmental presentations at upcoming workshop meetings to provide an overview of departmental functions, as well as to assist in the budget planning process.

“In order to schedule all presentations within a timeframe to be useful for budget considerations, we would need to schedule two per workshop meeting beginning with the March 24 regular workshop,” St. Denis wrote.

The commission requested that each presentation be about 20 to 30 minutes, allowing for questions, effectively adding an hour to each regular workshop.

“I am asking if the Town Commission would be interested in beginning the workshop meetings at noon in order to provide an hour for the department presentations, then the workshop meeting could begin at 1:00 PM,” St. Denis wrote.

St. Denis will bring up the suggestion at the commission’sregular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 7.
