Woman arrested for June theft

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Lehigh Acres woman for alleged theft.

The store manager reported the theft June 26.

A surveillance video at Ulta Beauty on South Tamiami Trail caught Jessica Barker, 31, take boxes of Ulta products into the store’s restroom. Then she allegedly took out the products and threw away the packaging.

According to a press release, Barker was accompanied by three younger girls in matching dresses.

Two employees of Ulta identified Barker from the surveillance recording on July 7.

Barker was arrested on a count of grand theft, a felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a child, a misdemeanor.

According to the arrest warrant, the value of products Barker took from Ulta totaled more than $300.

She had previously been arrested for stealing from Old Navy on Cattlemen Road in 2013.
