MONDAY, JUNE 15

Summer Chef Jam  takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shamrock Pub, 2257 Ringling Blvd. $25.

It's back. A summertime favorite among craft beer-lovers and foodies alike, the annual Summer Chef Jam series, presented by Edible Sarasota and Chefs2U, returns this week to the Shamrock Pub.

The nine-week event features nine different chefs, each offering three small plates paired with bottomless pints of local craft beer, plus a dessert from locals, Pop Craft Pops. First on the roster is Chef Darwin Santa Maria, of Darwin's on 4th, who will serve ceviche, guava glazed salmon and pork belly chaufa.


TUESDAY, JUNE 16

Sarastota Day Presents Live Music Originals — takes place at 9 p.m. at Gator Club, 1490 Main St. Free.

Sarasota Day presents this monthly free live music event at the Gator Club to promote original music in Sarasota.

This month's event features Tiger Fawn, Morgan Soltes and Joe Seul. Stop by, grab a drink and support the wealth of musical talent Sarasota has to offer.


WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17

Woody Sez  takes place at 8 p.m. at the Asolo Repertory Theatre, 5555 N. Tamiami Trail. $22 to $61.

Woody Guthrie was America’s original folk hero, whose songs celebrated the beauty of America, the people he met crisscrossing the nation, the history he absorbed and the social issues of his day.

He brought a free spirit to popular music and his impact still thrives today in many genres. This musical event features four actor-musicians performing 25 of Guthrie’s songs, using 15 instruments to celebrate his legacy.


THURSDAY, JUNE 18

Ari and the Alibis — takes place at 8 p.m. at The Blue Rooster, 1525 4th St. $5.

Head to the Rosemary District this Thursday to catch Sarasota based four-piece Ari and the Alibis as they take the stage at The Blue Rooster.

The band, fronted by Ari McManus, puts its unique thumbprint on Latin, blues and jazz stylings. Come early, have dinner and enjoy the music with a craft cocktail in your hand.


 FRIDAY, JUNE 19

Tom Arnold takes place at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20, at McCurdy's Comedy Theatre, 1923 Ringling Blvd. $29.

Tom Arnold, who got his big break as a writer and eventual executive producer of the hit sitcom,“Roseanne,” has become a staple in the comedy world, known both for his high-energy performances and former penchant for partying.

In addition to his comedy career, Arnold has enjoyed success as an actor, starring alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in "True Lies" and hosting "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" for four years. Now catch him at McCurdy's Comedy Theatre for a two-night special performance.


SATURDAY, JUNE 20

Sarasota SUP Championships — takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Siesta Key Beach.  $25 to $75.

Head out to Siesta Key Beach this weekend to enjoy the biggest stand up paddle board-event of the year.

Ticket includes lunch for participants, and spectators and family members can also purchase a lunch ticket. Tournament include awards and a raffle, as well as children’s divisions and a post-race party that features a corn hole tournament, a lounge to relax and an opportunity to mingle with racers.


SUNDAY, JUNE 21

Father’s Day Brunch & Brews — takes place from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, June 21, at JDub’s Brewing Co., 1215 Mango Ave. $25.

Give your dad a Father's Day to remember with this special edition of the regular “Brunch & Brews” series at JDub's Brewing Co.

For $25 per person, guests will enjoy a two-course brunch, featuring food from Sarasota-based family owned food truck Morgan’s Canteen & Cookery, which specializes in traditional American cuisine, breakfast, burgers, Greek and Mediterranean, as well as sandwiches and vegetarian dishes. The event also features bottomless glasses of two select JDub’s draft beers.
