Make a big splash for World Oceans Day at Mote Marine Laboratory’s Dr. Seuss-themed festival.

The family-friendly event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at The Aquarium at Mote Marine Laboratory, 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway. The fun is free with admission to Mote.

Attendees will enjoy games and crafts focused on green practices, marine science and conservation led by Mote and other local organizations.

Officially celebrated on June 8, World Oceans Day was founded in 1992 at the Earth Summit and declared a holiday by the United Nations in 2009.
