If you're hoping for a quiet weekend, Lakewood Ranch's signature musical festival, Winterfest, isn't the stop for you.

The second annual event will feature music all day, starting at 1 p.m. Feb. 28, at Premier Sports Campus, located at 5895 Post Blvd. Performers include former "American Idol" contestant and Braden River High School graduate Sam Woolf, WAR, The Doobie Brothers and Les Sabler.

Students of the Palmetto-based Del Couch Foundation will perform on the community stage throughout the day as well.

Event organizer Antonio Saviano promises attendees will have constant music throughout the family-friendly event. Even between sets, local and nationally recognized musicians will perform for the thousands who attend.

The event also features games and attractions for children, food and craft vendors and other activities to ensure a family-focused environment — an important detail to Saviano.

"We want to stress that this is a family-friendly event, with something for everyone," Saviano said. "We want people to come and stay for the day, and not just come for one act and then go home."

Cost is $45 for adult admission; $30 for seniors and veterans; free for children 12 and younger. VIP packages are also available.Tickets are available at http://lwrwinterfest.com.
