Two of America’s premiere harpists sit down for a free concert for Sarasota classical music fans. Cheryl Losey Feder, principal harpist for the Sarasota Orchestra, and Ann Hobson Pilot, former principal harpist for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, have been friends for years but get to perform for the first time together and will present music by Bach, Debussy, and Scott Joplin.

Sarasota’s battle of the bands returns for year two daylong rock and roll and art education fundraising. This year’s participating bands include Shore Dogs, Audiosphere, Jah Movement, Paige Merriman, Doug Burns, the South Trail Band and Seven Years Past. The winner of the battle will receive a cash prize of $1, 500 and get to allocate $3,500 to a music department at the Sarasota County school of their choice.
