It's a stormy outlook for the beginning of the week.

The National Weather Service has issued multiple weather alerts for Sarasota County for the next couple days, with the tropical storm Debby continung to loom over the northeast portion of the Gulf of Mexico.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue today; the main threat is potential waterspouts and tornadoes.

Also, according to the National Weather Service, minor to moderate river flooding will continue the next couple days along numerous area rivers, bringing possible flood waters to some parts of the area along with significant rainfall that has already occurred and expected to continue today and tonight.

In addition to river flooding, minor to moderate coastal flooding, mainly at high tide is expected along much of the West Florida coast.

With much of the hazardous weather expected to last over the next few days, be on alert for more weather warnings updates.
