Weather Service issues freeze warning for East County

The National Weather Service has issued a hard freeze warning for Manatee and Sarasota counties that will remain in effect from 10 p.m. tonight to 9 a.m. Wednesday.

A hard freeze warning indicates sub-freezing temperatures will kill sensitive vegetation and property owners should protect vulnerable plants by covering them or bringing them inside, if possible.

Tonight's low is projected to be 26 degrees Fahrenheit, with a high of 59 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday.
