Waterline Road project approved

The Manatee County commission voted Feb. 5 to approve a revised development plan for a 195-unit development off Waterline Road.

The board denied the project in September 2013. However, property owners disputed the decision and a special magistrate ruled in January that commissioners should approve the project based on Florida statutes and Manatee County code.

Commissioner said they wished the developer would consider constructing fewer units to be more compatible with the larger five-acre home sites around the development, but had trouble voting against the magistrate's decision. 

The property owners indicated indicated they would sue the county following a second denial.
