An evaluation committee Friday concluded Manatee County should negotiate with Orlando-based partnership Manatee Lost Lagoon Development LLC for the potential creation of a water park at Tom Bennett Park.

The company has proposed to build a 20-acre water park with a lazy river, slides, a wave pool and other features on part of the 188-acre Tom Bennett Park site.

The committee's recommendation now goes to Manatee County Administrator Ed Hunzeker for consideration.
