A water main leak from yesterday morning has caused southbound traffic at the convergence of U.S. 41 and U.S. 301 to be reduced to one lane this morning.

The faulty water main, buried under U.S. 41, caused water to surface near the median and outside lanes of U.S. 41, according to a city press release. Utilities crews repaired the leak, a result of faulty coupling on the 14-inch water main, at 4 a.m. today.

Crews are now working on repairing the areas affected by the leak — including resurfacing the road — to meet Florida Department of Transportation standards. As a result, southbound U.S. 41/U.S. 301 traffic will be reduced to one lane until this afternoon.
