Members of the Lakewood Ranch Inter-District Authority Board this morning tabled discussion about new hours for Lakewood Ranch Town Hall.

Supervisors had been set to approve changing Town Hall hours to 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with hours extended until 7 p.m. twice a week. CDD 4 Supervisor and IDA member Gordon Norquay had planned to vote in favor of the change until his fellow CDD 4 board members vetoed the idea at their agenda review meeting Tuesday because of potential associated costs. That fact left two IDA members in favor of the change and two against at today's meeting.

Supervisor Glenda Robertson offered an alternative proposal in which Town Hall staff would continue working four 10-hour work days, but Town Hall would also be open on Fridays to accommodate residents. As suggested, employees would work 10-hour days Monday through Thursday, with the exception of two full-time and one part-time front desk employees. One full-time employee would work Monday through Thursday, while the other worked Tuesday through Friday. The part-time staff's schedule also would be adjusted.

Community Manager Bob Fernandez was tasked with speaking with the employees potentially affected by the proposal. The discussions will be reconsidered at the board's May meeting.
