The Garbage Men, a local band known for their instruments made from recycled materials, hosted an environmentally themed workshop for Whole Foods' April Kids Club Saturday.

The Pine View School graduates performed for a crowd, then taught children how to make percussion instruments from used plastic bottles in front of the downtown grocery store.

"The best place to start with recycling and teaching all about sustainability is at a younger age," said Garbage Men bassist Evan Tucker. "Kids learn more and they're more impressionable."
