Sarasota County Administrator Randall Reid and Sarasota County commissioners will meet with city of Venice council members tomorrow to discuss mutual cooperation, and expanding communication.

Among the topics are county mowing operations in Venice, talks about transferring roads to the city, and a discussion about the county spending an estimated $250,000 to take over the city’s emergency dispatch responsibilities. The forecasted price would cover the cost of hiring four full-time employees, technical updates, and training.

Reid took his current job with experience at the city and county levels, and has said he intended to use that to foster more cooperation with towns and cities within Sarasota County.
