Vandalism continues at Ringling Shopping Center

Two weeks after vandals spray-painted obscenity on a truck in the parking lot at the Ringling Shopping Center, a nearby resident reported more property damage at the site.

Michael Rodrigue, a Lime Circle resident, reported about $100 worth of damage to the chain-link fence on the east side of the property April 15. Unknown suspects damaged various parts of the partially completed fence during installation April 4.

Sarasota Police do not have suspects or witnesses in the recent damage, according to a report, but residents have speculated the vandalism is retaliation against construction of the fence, which blocks a shortcut to Payne Park.
