The city of Sarasota lifted a health advisory for the Hudson Bayou over the weekend following several days of water quality monitoring due to a force main break that occurred last week.

Last Monday, a concrete pipe was accidentally broken in the afternoon by a contractor while working on a construction site on Osprey Avenue.

The main break spilled about 200 gallons of raw sewage into Hudson Bayou, but no fecal matter made its way into the water.
