UPDATE: All dogs placed with local rescue organizations

Animal Services removed an estimated 263 small dogs last week from a Venice home.
Animal Services removed an estimated 263 small dogs last week from a Venice home.

Last week an animal hoarding investigation of a Venice home discovered 263 dogs, many of which were in bad condition. Sarasota County Animal Services has medically treated the animals, and now all dogs have been placed with various rescue organizations.

The list of organizations includes:

Almost Home, Florida Little Dog Rescue, Honor Sanctuary, Canine Castaways, Safe Haven, Suncoast Humane Society, Underdog Rescue, Florida Poodle Rescue, VIP Rescue, Kickapoo Rescue, Certified Preowned Dogs, Bay Road Animal Hospital and Ashton Animal Clinic.

Anyone wishing to adopt one of the animals may do so by contacting any of the above organizations.
