United Way of Manatee County will celebrate “Live United Week” later this month and is asking East County residents to support the cause.

First up will be a “Giving Back to School Days” — a three-day volunteer blitz to help ready several schools for the coming year.

Volunteers will tackle projects such as cleaning, landscaping and organizing at Lincoln Middle and Mills, Rowlett, Able, Palma Sola, Wakeland, Blackburn, Bayshore and Rodgers elementary schools July 22 through July 24. For information or to sign up, contact Doreen Ravagnani at [email protected] or call 748-1313.

Next, United Way will launch its annual fundraising campaign with a kick-off breakfast at 7:30 a.m. July 25, at Renaissance on 9th, 1816 Ninth St. W., Bradenton. The event will be held in conjunction with the Manatee Chamber of Commerce Coffee Club event.

And, lastly, the organization is asking individuals to use their voice, share stories and show their support by following United Way on Facebook and Twitter, to help advocate for individuals in need.
