The Longboat Key Town Commission has a busy schedule today at Town Hall.

At 1:30 p.m., commissioners will hold their first special meeting to review a list of recommendations from an Urban Land Institute study that cost taxpayers $125,000. Those recommendations include a Main Street concept for the area of Bay Isles Road and a brand new set of codes and Comprehensive Plan that panelists recommend.

A regular meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight at Town Hall will establish a fund balance policy for the commission and review an interlocal agreement with the Planning, Zoning and Building Department and the University of Florida to provide planning services for the understaffed department moving forward.
