Longboat Key Commission seat interest is rising.

Town Clerk Trish Granger said Gene Jaleski, a former commissioner who resigned his seat a few years ago, and Larry Grossman have picked up commission paperwork to review.

The news comes after it was announced that Joseph Iannello has also picked up commission paperwork and could run against Commissioner Terry Gans. Gans, in turn, has begun to file paperwork for a new two-year term.

Commissioners Jack Duncan and Phillip Younger have already qualified for their seats, which also expire in March. Mayor Jim Brown also intends to run for another term in March, but is still working his way through the qualification process.
