Two-alarm fire under control at north Sarasota warehouse

The Sarasota County Fire Department extinguished a blaze at a warehouse on Leonard Reid Avenue.

UPDATE:

Fire Department spokesman Jerry Jensen reported that the fire was under control, with a few hot spots remaining, and that cleanup had begun. There were no injuries, he said. All workers got out of the building at 2746 Leonard Reid Ave., listed as R&P Auto Works. 

Sarasota County advised motorists to avoid the area around Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way for the near future. 

EARLIER:

As of 12:20 p.m. on Jan. 20, the Sarasota County Fire Department was responding to a two-alarm fire at a business at 2746 Leonard Ave., according to county spokesman Jason Bartolone. 

He said there is a report of one person who was inside the building and is currently being evaluated on scene.
