Turtle nest scheduled for excavation

A turtle nest has hatched on Longboat Key and will be excavated at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at 6547 Gulfside Road. Parking is available in the ResortQuest and Longboat Key Financial Group parking lot at 6350 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Cross Gulf of Mexico Drive and take Gulfside Road to the beach. The excavation will take place rain or shine and will be canceled only in the event of lightening.
