Longboat Key residents that can’t make one of several scheduled beach presentations in the coming weeks at Town Hall can view a condensed version of the presentation online.

The town of Longboat Key posted the presentation on its website, www.longboatkey.org, today, to inform residents why the beach and its $16 million beach project that will be on the March 15 ballot are important. Town Manager Bruce St. Denis narrates the presentation.

The presentation can also be viewed directly here.

The beach project includes construction of erosion control structures on the north end of the island as well as placing sand along Longboat Key beaches in certain high erosion areas.

Town residents and interested individuals are also encouraged to attend one of several Town Hall presentations that have been scheduled for the upcoming weeks prior to the election. The presentations will be held in the Longboat Key Commission Chambers located at 501 Bay Isles Road.

The remaining Town Hall meeting dates are: 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 28; 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Thursday, March 3; and 2 p.m., Friday, March 4.

Interested parties are invited to contact Assistant to Town Manager Susan Phillips to set up presentations to homeowner association or civic groups. Phillips can be reached at [email protected] or at 941-316-1999, Ext 243.
