Town schedules joint meeting with Sarasota County

A joint meeting between the Longboat Key Town Commission and the Sarasota County Commission has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at the Sarasota County Administration Center, 1660 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota.

Longboat Key commissioners reviewed possible items of discussion at a special meeting last week. Suggestions included transportation issues, West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND), beach management, traffic, pension options and service-consolidation exploration. Town commissioners also discussed the possibility of establishing regular meetings with Sarasota County officials.
