The qualifying period has ended for the March 2013 Longboat Key Municipal election, and three commissioners face challenges.

L’Ambiance resident Irwin Pastor qualified to challenge Commissioner Terry Gans for the remaining one year of his at-large term.

Former Commissioner Gene Jaleski will challenge Commissioner Phill Younger for the at-large seat that Younger has held since 2010.

St. Judes Drive resident Larry Grossman will run against Mayor Jim Brown for the District 4 seat.

Commissioner Jack Duncan is unopposed for the District 2 seat.
