In addition to giving residents the opportunity to query this year’s Town Commission candidates, a forum next week will give some of Longboat’s leading community groups the opportunity to ask candidates questions about issues directly affecting the organizations.

The organizations to be represented include:
• Federation of Longboat Key Condominium Association
• Positive Change for LBK
• Islandside Property Owners Coalition
• Longboat Key Garden Club
• Longbeach Village Association
• Longboat Key, Lido Key, St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce
• Longboat Key Center for the Arts
• Longboat Key Public Interest Committee

Additional organizations have been contacted for participation.

Candidates expected to participate in the forum include: District 1 — Lynn Larson and Mayor Lee Rothenberg; District 3 — David Brenner and Commissioner Peter O’Connor; At large — Phil Younger. At-large Commissioner Hal Lenobel declined to participate in the forum.

Sponsored by The Longboat Observer and the Longboat Key Center for the Arts, the forum is free and open to the public. It will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, in the community media room at the Longboat Key Center for the Arts, 6860 Longboat Drive S.

For information, contact Jessica Luck, 383-5509.
