Town to discuss sign code

The Longboat Key Town Commission and its Planning and Zoning Board have a busy Tuesday planned at Town Hall.

At its 9 a.m. regular meeting Tuesday, Oct. 19, the planning board will discuss the upcoming process to review and amend the town’s Comprehensive Plan. The planning board also will form a subcommittee that will work with the Florida Department of Transportation to reduce the number of state road signs in the Gulf of Mexico Drive right-of-way.

And at a 1 p.m. special workshop Tuesday, Oct. 19, the Town Commission will meet with members of the planning board to review potential changes to its sign code that are recommended by the planning board.
