Sarasota County schools witnessed a slight decrease in graduation rate from 84.3% in 2009-2010 to 83.5% for the 2010-2011 school year, according to reports released by the Florida Department of Education.

Three Sarasota schools saw a decreased graduation rate of 2.5% or more. North Port High had the largest drop in graduation rate, from 88.1% to 83%. Booker High had the lowest overall graduation rate, at 74.4%, while Pine View had the highest, graduating 100% of students on-time.

The graduation rates are calculated by the National Governors Association formula, which is a four-year, adjusted rate that determines the percentage of on-time high school graduates given a four-year cohort.
