At the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners meeting tomorrow, County Code Enforcement will announce the activation of red-light cameras at three intersections.

Those include a camera at State Road 70 and Tara Boulevard, where East County resident Melissa Wandall's husband died after a motorist ran a red light 10 years ago.

Wandall has worked with state lawmakers to create the Mark Wandall Traffic Safety Act, which includes standards for red-light cameras.

The red-light cameras at the three intersections will go live this week.

Manatee County already activated two red-light cameras last year. Code Enforcement will announce the results of those cameras at the 9 a.m. commission meeting, at 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.

The item is scheduled for discussion at 11 a.m.
