Theisen files for Sarasota County Commission race

Former Sarasota City Commission candidate Pete Theisen will bring his offbeat campaign strategy to the 2014 Sarasota County Commission race.

Theisen filed papers April 2, to run for the Sarasota County Commission district 2 seat in the 2014 General Election. Commissioner Joe Barbetta currently represents the district, which encompasses downtown.

During the city commission race, Theisen often videotaped interviews with a personal camera and posted them on a YouTube channel that includes clips of him in a Halloween mask, and a Santa Claus costume. He missed the runoff election by about 1,800 votes.
