THURSDAY, March 17 

The Lakewood Ranch girls tennis team closes the regular season when it travels to The Out-of-Door Academy at 4 p.m. The defending state champion Mustangs have struggled this season but still have aspirations of returning to the state tournament. 

FRIDAY, March 18

A pair of East County will wrap up rivalry week on the baseball diamond when Braden River hosts Lakewood Ranch at 7 p.m. in the finale of the best-of-three series. 

FRIDAY, March 18

The Braden River softball team tries to remain unbeaten when it faces Timber Creek at 5 p.m. to open the Sarasota Spring Slam at the Miss Sarasota Softball Complex. The Pirates also play Palmetto at 7 p.m. The annual spring break tournament, featuring 16 teams, will continue through March 19. 

MONDAY, March 21 

The Braden River and Lakewood Ranch baseball teams will be part of the 16-team field during the annual Sarasota Baseball Classic, which runs through March 25. Braden River faces Miami Palmetto at 4:30 p.m., at Sarasota High, while Lakewood Ranch will face Huntsville, Ala., at 4:30 p.m., at Venice High.
