Temple unveils new place for prayers

Longboat Key may be a long way from Israel, but now Temple Beth Israel members can feel a little bit closer.

At Rosh Hashana services Friday, Sept. 18, Rabbi Jonathan Katz unveiled a replica of the Western Wall in Jerusalem so that members can place their prayers into the crevices of the wall. A member of Katz’s previous synagogue in Indiana made the wall, and Katz brought it with him to Longboat Key.
