For the first time in four years, School District officials are proposing a budget that includes no cuts.
The preliminary 2012-2013 budget released by Superintendent Tim McGonegal Wednesday states revenues will be up by $13.5 million in the district's general fund, while expenses will increase by $10.96 million — a surplus of $2.54 million.
McGonegal hopes to use the majority of the surplus to fund a 1% bonus to all district employees.
A public hearing on the budget is set for 5:45 p.m. June 18, at the School Board Administration Building, 215 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
